good goals. good luck. its definitely good to tell people about your goals, it helps you stick to them if others know about them.

I share your "personal" goals. :o

I did the green juce thing for several years and found that it caused more problems than it cured.  It seemed to create digestive problems - especially lose and smelly bowel movements and lots of gas.  I've now come to believe that green juice just concentrates the anti-nutrients and for me it made things worse.

Though I haven't eaten any fruit for several years now, small amounts of fruit, say a small or medium sized apple, pear, orange, peach, bunch of grapes, or handfull of cherries etc never seemed to be a problem as long as I ate it alone as a snack.

hmm... well according to Dr. MERCOLA vegetable juicing can actually steer a protein type in the wrong direction... i believe 2/3 of the population are protein types... the more i look into mercola metabolic typing seems to make sense to me..a protein type can only eat certain types of veggies and basically is very limited on fruits.. the protein type diet is basically meat and copious amounts of fats.

also what types of juices were making? im basically doing a bit of carrot, lettuce, cucumber, with some parsely, zuchiinni.
what are you eating mostly then?

whats your sample diet like?

Metallica,
When I was juicing I would often drink a quart per day.  I grew my own wheatgrass, barley grass, and alfalfa.  I usually mixed in celery, carrots (tops and all), beets (tops and all), chard, parsley, cilantro, turnip greens, and on occasion a few cloves of garlic.  I was totally vegan at the time and that adventure lasted about 15 years until my health got so bad going back to SAD was an improvement.

For the past 3 years or so I've eaten only meat and fat - mostly from Slankers.  I mix 1 1/2 lbs of their Dog & Cat food with 2 lbs of their course ground Chili Beef and lately have been adding about 250g of suet to bring the total fat up to 30% by weight which is about 80% of calories.  I eat between 600g (2,000 calories) and 1kg (3,400 calories) of this mixture every day depending on how hungry I am and how much physical labor I'm doing.  The only seasoning I add is a bit of salt, about 1/4 teaspoon which is close to 1.5g per day.  That's it.

I'm 57 years old, 6'1" and weigh 160 lbs.  Hope this helps,

Lex

lex, do you think the carrot and beet tops may have been a problem? Aren't they toxic or something? I know celery leaves are.

When you say mix together the meat do you mean by hand or with a blender?

Most of the green drink mixes I tried were based on recommendations from gurus like Ann Wigmore, Victorus Kulvinskis, Norman Walker et al.  To be honest, I've even tried the dried mixes on the market like Emerald Greens, Green Magma, Super Greens, etc and they all give me digestive problems.

All the meat products I get from Slankers is ground.  The Dog&Cat food is ground fairly fine.  The Chili Beef is a very course grind with chunks about the size of the end of your thumb.  The chili beef adds texture so the mix is chewy which I like.  All come frozen.

I grind or chop the suet fairly fine and then kneed it into the D&C and Chili Beef until everything is well mixed.  This makes about 2kg.  I then divide into 2 or 3 equal portions and refrigerate until I'm ready to eat.  Every morning I take out the day's ration and set it on the counter to warm up to room temperature. Just before eating I sprinkle with a pinch of salt.  I eat once a day between 4pm and 6pm in the late afternoon.

I'm not mettalica (tool is better neway) but i started a similar thing as him. The fruit is the hardest. if i do good with fruit the nuts become a problem and if i do good with nuts i just get kinda finiky and need to remeber to get some raw meat/fish(much to my families dislike). It takes the edge off, but i am doing omni, not fruit/nuts/dairy tho. the comp gets me but at least i am away from the tv. F*cking education system has to revolve around computers i dont like, but oh well. i do feel drastically better :D
The price is wrong Bob
