How can I make raw meat taste nicer

Dont get me wrong raw meat goes down really well and relaxes me but it tastes of nothing and cooked meat tastes better (unless dry and eaten by itself). Im thinking of adding curry powder or something to my meat, or making some tartare so I can enjoy eating instead of eating tasteless flesh. Has anyone got some preparation ideas? Taste is a part of wellbeing too as much as nutrients are!!

You're probably eating low quality, grain fed meats. And/or you're having only very lean cuts.

You can season it a million different ways if you want to, but it should taste good on its own.

As dariorpl suggested I was eating too lean cuts. I now buy better meat with a lot of fat and it tastes like heaven, where has this been my whole life? Haha. Anyone who doesnt like the taste of raw meat make sure to buy organic high quality meat with the fat, very important (obviously). Raw butter as a fat source is good, but for taste get fattier beef. I wish I could buy a barrel of raw beef fat and just chew on it, that would be heaven!!

It's normal to assume that meat fat is bad when most of the nutritional industrial complex has been pushing vegetable oil, starch and sugar for the past 40+ years.

If any positive mention is given to meat at all, it's about protein, and if you only want the protein then lean meat is where you'll find it.

This has been slowly changing over the past 10-15 years.

Add the fact that raw fat from grainfed animals tends to taste bad, and even most raw paleoers will tend to focus on lean cuts.

Another thing you can try is leaving meat out to get to room temperature, some even place it in the sun for a few hours to warm up. It does taste better that way.

Fortunately most people still believe fat is trash, so you are able to purchase fattier cuts more cheaply than lean ones. You can indeed buy fat trimmings from a local butcher or slaughterhouse depending on how things are structured where you live.

Everybody's always known that fat is where the taste is at, humans aren't supposed to eat a low fat diet. This is why things like heavy marbling is valued highly. Because that meat just tastes better when cooked. The reason marbled meat tastes better is because of all the fat that's inbetween the muscle. Due to the fact that it's not practical to try to remove it, people just eat it. Whereas in cuts where the fat is on the outside of the muscle, someone does the trimming either at the slaugherhouse, butcher shop or kitchen, or all of the above, until only the lean muscle remains, with the belief that lean is healthier.

I really like Mettbrötchen. A German dish of raw minced pork seasoned with onions, salt, black pepper, and garlic or cumin. Served on a crispy bun. I'm having trouble switching to raw meat.

I developed a taste for raw beef or lamb heart, but my body gets sick after four days on heart.

Yesterday I ate ground beef raw, I don't enjoy it. I do enjoy plain ground beef cooked with salt.

My freezer is currently full of factory farmed pork shoulder chops, they taste alright raw but they taste amazing cooked.

My instincts are aligned with cooked meat, raw meat feels wrong.

If I could afford to buy steaks it would be easier. In New Zealand there are no cheap cuts of meat aside from organs.

when the animal is healthy it's meat should taste good otherwise it's your instincts telling you the meat is not healthy and do not eat it.

It's really that simple.
