Use for the soft bones after making bone broth?
« on: December 05, 2024, 09:44:25 am »
I just made some turkey bone broth and afterwards the bones were soft enough to just mush with my fingers.. is there anything I can do with them?  I'm not sure if I can just eat them outright since they're cooked and probably made of mainly calcium now anyways right?  So should I just throw them out or is there something more useful I can do with them?
Hi, I'm 32, around 5'4" and ~124lb, no real significant health problems other than hyperventilating when running/exercising (that my doc said was because of the smog/asthma), fatigue, and really bad acne.
I'd preferably be a carnivore/very low carb, but I have had a very hard time finding grass-fed or even organic fats, organs, and marrow. I consume raw dairy, but I do not eat much vegetables.. however, I do love fruit.
I live with my dad, so I also have to sneak any raw meat eating.

You can eat the bones if they are soft, you would get a good portion of calcium and phosphorus. You can do the same with fish. However, I´d make sure these come from healthy animals as heavy metals such as lead tend to get stored in bones. But you might need to be cautious doing that too often, as I remember sabertooth once said that when he ate cooked bones he had some issue, think it was elevated blood pressure? But he uses or used bone meal instead of dairy for his calcium needs. This would give you a great amount of minerals plus a good calcium/phosphorus ratio. I also recall that he said he got dairy cravings when he didn´t consume the bone meal  (which was low temp proccessed). I put this to the test when I wanted to stop eating dairy. So I started consuming canned sardines with skin and bones. As a result my dairy cravings stopped. I also think this might be one way to prevent/halt or even reverse cavities, in case you cannot or do not want to consume raw dairy. Both calcium and phosphorus seem to be one of the critical components.
