Lemon/lime juice and sensitive teeth
« on: August 03, 2009, 04:49:28 am »
Hi,

There are several recipes that recommend to have fish or chicken incubated with lemon or lime juice in the fridge for a few hours and up to 24 hours. My problem is that the enamel on my teeth is not perfect anymore on several spots and eating these foods high in acid hurts my teeth. What would you recommend to neutralize the acid? I though about raw cream but I don't have access to that. Any and all recommendations are highly welcome (other than "don't use lemon/lime juice").

Best,
Westley

You could try and drain out as much of the liquid as possible after the marination. You would get the "chemical cooking" effects of the acid with as little acid ingested, and coming in contact with your teeth, as possible.
