What do you think about David Wolfie?
« on: October 09, 2009, 04:08:56 pm »
Hello all,

While I agree that eating animal meat and fats is a good ideea, I cant shake the feeling that some people may be more optimised to eat fruits or vegetables. What do you think about that?

I mean, look at David Wolfie. He seems really vibrant and helthy. Or, is it because he does a lot of cocoa (or cacao) and other medicinal plants?

So far I noticed that after consuming some raw butter I dont dont feel cold most of the time anymore.

    What were you eating before?  Are you paleo at all?  Is cacao easy to get in Romania?

I question that too.  I know some raw people that seem to look very healthy, yet it doesn't work for me.  I wonder if they really eat raw or do they supplement with something?  Testosterone, GH maybe?

By cocoa do you mean cocaine?  Like the cocaine makes him look healthy and vibrant?

Maybe all the things that he does (which he calls longevity technologies) work for him or maybe it's just one thing that makes it work. He seems to be into a lot of stuff actually.

I have to say, for the short term at least, when I stoppend taking calcium suppliments but only went with magnesium, I felt better and I had no more muscle cramps after training. So he may be on to something with that good calcium - bad calcium thing.

As for me:
I do try to eat more raw food, including meat, butter, eggs, fruits but I make exceptions because in social situations I dont want to explain every time that "I'm trying this new thing now etc". I was eating more processed foods a few months ago than I eat now.

@ richard: cocaine? - no. I mean this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U90-FK0sePg

I only found cocoa powder here by the way.

DW is a good guy and means well, but I'm not certain I agree with his health advice any more than I agree with anyone who assumes ONE SIZE FITS ALL (or, in this case, one diet is best for everyone).

I do best with a mix of meats along with fruits & veggies. Some people do better on low or zero carb (all or almost all meat) while others thrive on a vegan diet.

I deplore Wolfe's willingness to sell dried fruit and nut butters, which have made many raw vegans very ill.  He does appear to be a pretty good Ormus researcher, relatively speaking, though. He's mostly just hype, though.

  Sometimes you just have to express yourself.  I think David has a lot of info in his head, but it is processed through a marketing mind.  If you follow what he has preached through the years, he is always coming up with another super food, imported from all over the world, and 'tells' you, to be healthy you must eat it....  He creates fear and a futuristic hope in the minds of those who follow him, rather than following a more simple diet and listening within.  One can stay addicted to hope for an entire life time, as he would hope, for it fuels his gross sales.

@cherimoya_kid: how do you know that "dried fruit and nut butters" has made the vegans ill? I would think it would have made him ill as well... unless he doesn't actually eat them

@van: you are right about the marketing thing. I listened to his longevity program and he lists a ton of herbs and all of them are "the best ever". The thing is, all those herbs have a long tradition for healing people (in their specific countries) of all kinds of things so there could be some truth in there.

I will list the main points from that program because I'd like to have some second opinions and hear some actual experience if possible.

Mostly I wonder about these things:
1. Calcification - he says it actually precedes all disease and it's also the cause of aging (some other people say it's insulin resistence, low DHEA). For that he recommends Zeolites, MSM, Fulvic acid and some other stuff (calcium supplements are not recommended);
2. He recommends connecting to the earth by touching it with the bear feet or holding a grounded wire;
3. Medicinal mushrooms fight candida - he lists some weird names here but mostly are the ones that grow on trees like Chaga etc;
4. Zappers - are supposed to kill parasites.

Have you had any experience with some of these? What do you think about them?

I don't think that David actually eats dried fruit or nut butters.  It's very widely known in the raw vegan community that those foods will make you very ill, in large quantities, over even just a few weeks.  I think he sells them because they are "tasty", have a high profit margin, sell well, and have a long shelf life.

Calcification--stay raw and it's not a problem.  I don't think calcium supplements are bad, at least not bone meal and healing clays, which are the only ones I use.  Taking natural magnesium supplements is also helpful in this area.

Grounding--I go barefoot outside pretty much every day of the year, unless it's raining.  I definitely believe it's helpful, although it's good to watch where you step.

Medicinal mushrooms--they use these to treat cancer in Japan/China.  I can't speak to their effectiveness.  Studies on them are generally suppressed in this country by the pharmaceutical industry.

Zappers--I haven't done my research in this area.

Hey majormark, read this.. People who have met David Wolfe say something different.

Quote
Sarah…thank you for your interest in the discussion. My experience in Hawaii led me to many stories just like yours. Raw vegans tend to do great for about 5-7 years, then they invariably hit the wall. When I saw David Wolfe for the first time in person, this was confirmed. David is in poor physical condition but has invested so heavily in his nutritional protocol (financially and philosophically) that he has no choice but to continue, or at least deceive his followers into believing he is doing so. You were right to develop a valid means of evaluating your information, otherwise it is little more than propoganda. Some vegans get stuck because the diet actually affects their cognitive capacity, leaving them with no means to objectively determine what is wrong with their diets. I admit to feeling very calm,focused and centered compared to the raw vegans I have spent time with. You are right that the inclusion of raw animal products to your diet is the key to this.
I would love to visit you both in TNQ in the future.

I have met Scott Wheeler and he is the real deal.  He is a nutritionist/personal trainer and a long term primal dieter.

Oh and watch this video that features him discussing the primal diet on a major tv network's current affairs program.  It also features(and contrasts ;)) him with a long term dedicated fruitarian who has written books on the subject.

@cherimoya_kid: he does not recommend calcium supplements like calcium oxide, citrate etc saying that our body can manufacture calcium anyway if we give it the proper elements. What would natural magnesium supplements be? (pumpkin seeds, cocoa?)

And zappers actually are supposed to kill mostly viruses. This seems to go against the belif that viruses are actually a good thing. I have some trouble generalising that all viruses are good though...

@Furion: I wonder what "poor physical condition" means to him? He does not seem week from the youtube videos...

I read some comments from the link you provided and there are two things that I'm would not do:

- "worm farm" - There has to be a way around that. I dont immagine me doing that in the future.
- consuming lots of dairy - I can only get raw butter but cant eat a lot of it (dont like the taste). I also got "dermatitis seborreica" this summer while doing a "gallon of milk a day" experiment, which stopped ater I quit all dairy for a while. The milk was pasteurized though.

He takes tons of supplements, way more than most could afford. And who really knows whether he is healthy or not? My idea of a healthy diet is one that doesn't need lots of pills and other products that appear as medicine in order to maintain yourself.

Yes, but if you live in a city with little sunlight I think you probably need at lead some vitamin D.

Maybe I bought into dr Mercola's theory on this vitamin and I still take some fish oil from time to time.

natural magnesium supplements would be Terrmamin clay, Pascalite clay or seawater precipitate, as an example.

David Hudson; a cotton farmer, who while investigating soil problems on his farm, suddenly made my life very much more complicated, when he discovered that approximately 5% of the Earth's crust is made up of mono-atomic atoms, that normal test equipment can't see. He spent 8.7 million dollars of his own money to acquire the services of the best people and equipment on this planet in conducting his investigation. He was able to determine that plants and animals have a large percentage of these monatomic atoms in their makeup.

i think most of these raw vegan "gurus" who have empires built on veganism are delusional and will always deny the fact that their could be things to promote superior health (i.e.meat) without the supplements.  if they did this they would have no income, they would have to discredit years of promotion, they would have to change.  i worked at the "tree of life" where gabriel cousins does raw vegan low glycemic juice cancer diabetes "miracles", basically just really expensive "fasts" which work for temporary but...everyone who lives/works there long term survives on cocao and spirulina, which are delicious and nutritious in their own right, dont get me wrong, but certainly not sustainable or even optimal!  if their diets were so excellent why do they feel the need to fast/detox for months at a time, take $100s of dollars worth of supplements, enema and colonic constantly?.  the problem is these diets are so unbalance/low protein/low fat that these people rarely have energy to EXERCISE and actually use their bodies.  they are pretty floaty and i think they all just get off on feeling guilt for past or present want and gluttony, which is basically due to being starved, physically hungry, not having personality defects/evil and feel the need to punish this with more starvation! "i cannot figure out why i am on this essene diet but i am still hungry, i must be evil/sick!" crazy people....yeah they make a ton of $$$$ tho!

    Some miracle maker!  No matter how vegan you are, if you can't do stimulants and are more sick, like not just cancer or diabetes or hyperactivity, you're not even allowed there.  AFAIC they can't cure s--* there.  I'm sorry, bad taste for uncaring charlatans.  It's just a party going on there.  Nothing wrong with having fun, not at all, but they should just state what they are and not pretend they have the best cures.

    Maybe I caught them at off times and they're miraculously better other times.

I already made an Ormus thread.  I have studied it for years, and spend thousands of dollars and hours of my time and money on learning about it through experimentation and study.  It's too big a topic to just throw out there, out of context, in a thread like this, but I definitely don't mind discussing it.
