Hi Andrew.  If you find a moment to post on your 4 weeks on all meat (maybe a new topic), please do so.  I am wondering if you've noted physical changes, and I would like to know what exactly you are eating.  You say ground meat and suet.  Does that mean only beef muscle and suet?  No organs, eggs, fish or fowl?

I've got way too much time on my hands at the moment! here's my post.

I've kept up a high amount of physical activity as before starting all meat although I added more weights and started climbing.

-I think my muscles are still getting used to running on fatty acids, I get really sore doing activities which would normally not cause soreness. I doubt this will last
-I'm getting more cut
-more veins in my arms
-I feel energetic and don't feel tired when I go to bed but seem to still fall asleep easily, wake up easily too
-I'm enjoying the feeling of hunger and the clarity it brings (I am now convinced that being hungry is very very good for you! and look forward to it, I've felt euphoric a few times)

So I've had a few minor problems during the 4 weeks eg. dry skin,sugar cravings, candida die off, feeling depressed, sleeping a lot, heart palpitations, blood pressure, head aches, going off the taste of meat but I've come out the other side feeling great.

I've reduced the amount of ground beef in my mix to 500 grams and reduced the suet down to 250 grams and I'm struggling to even get through that now. In terms of of other foods I eat liver when I crave it ( so maybe 300-400 grams a week?)otherwise just sticking to the ground beef and suet. I find the mix very tasty. I do crave some tastes but they are usually take away related.

Andrew,

There seem to be coincidences in yours and Lex's change in diet. Did you just drop carbs and go all meat altogether or did you increase your fat intake to ~80% all meat? It's been four weeks for you and you still have the adaptation symptoms like Lex but you're getting more cut so you're using internal fat and sparing protein.

Is the hunger you're experiencing more intense or less intense? Mine is less intense. It's almost like thoughts - not intense hunger. It's almost like the Azomite. All of a sudden, I'll just think that some would be nice. I think that is a craving of sorts. It also happens with liver, Slanker's Dog % Cat and regular ground beef. It's not an intense craving though... just thoughts. "I'd like to have this or that."

Thirst is the same. I'll think "water would be nice about now." If I don't get it after a while, I WILL feel great thirst.

I had the rapid heartbeat/palpitations (I don't know which) when first transitioning. Are you getting enough sodium and other minerals?

It's winter in Australia now, isn't it? I get dry skin when it's cold and dry out. My lips will get chapped too.

I decided  to go all meat because I started to notice all the toxins in vegetables and the unatural amount of sugar in modern day fruit (also I started to see the destruction environmentally) I was alreading eating a lot of fat and not much protein. I didn't know Lex had changed his fat/protein diet at the time and my levels of fat were around 80% anyway.

Less intense hunger which makes IF so much easier! and yes I sometimes throughout the day think yum can't wait to get home for some bloody meat or the taste of liver. I know when its time to eat liver and when it's time to give  it a rest.


Don't know about thirst, just drink. I prefer San Pan though.


I doubt I'm getting enough minerals because our soil is deficent in pretty much everything especially zinc, I just ordered my Azomite! I will also add one meal a week of shellfish.

Dry skin maybe some sort of candida thing I think but it has been cold.

What do you mean blood pressure?  Has it varied at all?  Have these problems gone away at all since you posted?  Thanks for the information.

I might try an all carnivorous diet in the winter, at least for a few weeks to see what it's like, but it may not be 100% raw due to family issues.  I realize it is winter for you now: Was that an impetus to do this all meat diet?  Will you carry on  indefinitely?

I was getting really bad palpitations the worst I've ever had, freaked out for a while, mostly when I was exercising. I didn't check my blood pressure but there was something going on. All good now and still zero carb.

also if anyone is interested the diet of no carbs has lead to some pretty bad candida problems being brought to the surface (literally). Struggling a bit with that :( I never realized I such a serious issue with it but I'm happy in a way it may explain a few things...

Andrew,

What was your diet like before?  How many fruit servings a day, vegetables, etc?  Were you very low carb before?  And do I dare ask what are your candida die off symptoms?  Good luck, mon ami!
