Ketogenic Diet
« on: December 19, 2009, 12:09:36 pm »
If I eat and all meat/fat diet does that mean it's a ketogenic diet?

or is the ketogenic diet all about not eating too much protein because 55-65% of protein turns to glucose?

I think you have to keep the protein low too.

That's what Lex says. In my opinion only the excess of protein (being precise - only glucogenic amino acids) turns to glucose or when someone eats to little carbs.

Without carbs you enter ketosis, so yes.

i think it's supposed to be that a diet that is at least 2:1 in grams of fat:grams of (protein+carbs) and 'stronger' ketogenic diets are 3:1 or even 4:1.  i would expect that an xs of calories would defeat the purpose though.
