Hello! New member here!
« on: February 25, 2010, 02:46:32 am »
Hi,

I just registered too the forum today! I havn't known about it long, maybe about 10 minutes, lol! I've been eating raw, and following Aajonus Vonderplanitz style of eating for about 2 year now.

I eat 100% raw animal products, as well as 1 litre of parsley and celery juice per day.

I've applied this style of eating to bodybuilding for muscle gain and fast loss and have seen tremendous results!

You look like a good group of people and I am excited to get to know you!

Thanks,

Tristan

Hey Tristan I am new here too. I've read AV but not a follower of his. How easy was it for you do go all raw meat? Did you have digestion problems at first?

He's drinking plenty of veggie-juice as well, not just 100% raw meats.

Anyway welcome to the forum, you certainly seem to have a lot of initiative re workouts etc.

The raw meat transition was fairly easy. I started by just cooking my steak less and less, then I began to eat about a 1/4 of my steak raw and 3/4 cooked to rare. I gradually increased the amount that I ate raw and the amount that I ate cooked, until I was eating it completely raw! Ive found this to be the best way. Also if you dislike the taste raw, start by slightly seasoning the meat and then using less and less seasoning!

No digestion problems at all from the raw meat, I did however go through a pretty poweful detox about 2 weeks into my raw eating.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Tyler! Im drinking about 1 litre of celery/parsley juice per day as well as 1.5lbs of raw beef, 1 litre of raw dairy and 6-12 eggs (depending on my activity level) I plan to increase my dairy to 2 litres per day in about 6 months.

I wonder if yogurt isn't a better solution than milk for bulking fast.

Well, it's your choice but I should mention that a LOT of RPDers do very badly on the dairy-heavy etc. sort of diet that AV proposes, over the long-term. Still, a minority might well have no such issues.

You mean milk?

1/2 a litre of Yogurt 1 hour after my meat meal post workout and 1/2 a litre of milk around 9:00pm. The yogurt is faster absorbing so it is better post workout then the milk and the milk is good to keep you fed throughout the night due to its longer digestion time and casein protein content. I believe that the proteins in raw milk are about 20% whey (fast absorbing) and 80% casein (slow absorbing).

A mixture of both seems to work well. I however am not bulking yet, I am still cutting off some bodyfat. Once I begin my bulk phase, my calories will probably double.

Cutting Nutrition Consists of:

half to one litre of celery/parsley juice
1.5lbs of beef
6-8 Eggs
1 litre of dairy

Bulking would look like this:

1litre of celery/parsley juice
2-3lbs of beef
12-14 Eggs
2 litres of dairy

Slowly transitioning is probably the best way to go. Can you elaborate on your dextox? What happened?

I just felt run down, lots of congestion coming out of me etc...sounded like I had been smoking for 50 years. It passed and I felt like I had been reborn! It was amazing. If a detox gets too bad, you can always stop it by eating something cooked.

I was lactose intolerent as a child, and pasteurized dairy to this day clogs me up, but I seem to be thriving on the raw dairy. I always monitor how my body reacts when I make changes to my diet. If I get negative effects from the increase in dairy consumption, I will decrease the dairy back to where it is now and increase my meat or egg intake.

Your experience shows just how toxic cooked food really is for us. It's like smoking cigs and then stopping.
