Simple-hearted-minded vs. Obsessive-hearted-minded
« on: July 30, 2008, 03:48:39 am »
Many are looking for "health" and yes "health" is an obsession!

I have often been on my last legs; is this life, perhaps I should, will I make it... but I can feel very bad and unhealthy when I think and believe to need more, better...Yes we do think this way, because we are looking for perfection but nature/life is not perfect!

I will not go in a health shop because I know this is not going to bring me the answer, I am not going to start eating supplements again and yes I will go for my meat and fat on my bicycle, even if it rains (work hard, eat lard)!

Some of us are just to damned spoilt; so many are poor, hungry and we just want more, better - supplements, detox, flush, deworm... >:(

Sorry, but I think money causes laziness, material consuming and constant competition!

Just some of my thoughts in case any one cares.

Nicola

I used to think money was a problem but these days I'm convinced that the issuers of money are the main cause of "global poverty."

But going without many modern comforts resonates with me as well. My idea of wealth would be owning enough land to easily feed myself and family/friends.

Hi Nicola,

Health can certainly be an obsession as well as anything and is not necessarily a bad thing unless it continues well past the point of actually finding health. I'm no longer on that quest as I've found everything I need to know for the best health I can achieve. Do what you can do to improve yourself and your health. If you cannot find the answer in one area, please don't exclude the others of mind body and spirit.

I choose to think of some of us as lucky rather than spoilt. There are many who have the means, awareness and are indeed able to improve their health using any method they prefer but choose not to. To me, this is a bigger "sin" than those who do have other options and do choose to exercise and explore their abilities and share their knowledge and experience. Please don't alienate those of us who decide to exercise it, which probably includes 99% of the members here. Anyone with Internet access and the ability to read this thread is probably in this category. I wouldn't want anyone to be offended.

It only takes a few acres to be self-sufficient on a omnivorous diet, but of course, it has to be the right kind of land.  It definitely does take money or resources to live well enough to have good health.  It also takes knowledge, perseverence and good old trial and error.  There is no one health plan that works for everyone.  Some do well with foods that others cannot tolerate.  Some may be more susceptible to certain problems.  Whatever works for you is fine.  Supplementing with certain nutrients that are lacking, avoiding all carbs, fasting from all foods for a time, or other protocols: If it makes your life more vibrant, then it is worth it for YOU.

You know, some people are born with holes in their hearts.  Are they somehow wrong for spending the money, by whatever means, to fix the problem they are born with?  What about injuries from accidents that take vast resources to overcome?  Some people may have more material wealth from hard work, too.  Others may work hard and struggle to make ends meet.  The aspects of the world we live in are just too complex to fit nice and neatly into one ideal or another.
