« on: May 04, 2010, 11:05:39 pm »
I need the pro-biotic and mind boosting effects of high meat but it's not available to me. At this time the only meat I have access to that wasn't prefrozen are shellfish

You could try making high-meat from prefrozen meat. It didn't work for me, but I might have done something wrong or whatever.

EM(effective microorganisms) products are the way to go if you can't stand the taste of high-meat or can't wait for a month for the meats to ripen etc. I think there's an info site with supplier details somewhere(www.eminfo.org ?)

What's wrong with making high meat from shellfish?

You could try high eggs.

I've been doing high meats for 3 weeks or so, its  7 week old.

the first thing I started was a cracked egg, which is about 2 months or more.

the egg is far scarier to me :) it looks and smells like instant death.

Whats wrong with pre-frozen meat getting high?

I've let quite a bit of my slankers meats gather bacteria, though not high, and they taste pretty good.

Thanks for suggestions. I suppose letting prefrozen meat get high is worth a try. Shellfish preserve and decay differently so I haven't thought about trying that, but experiments are helpful  :)

I would have thought prefrozen meat would have to get high. I mean it's not gonna stay fresh for ever... Maybe it just needs longer to get started?

Well, it's not recommended by other long-term  RPDers, for some reason. My own experiment failed(became too dehydrated which seems to ruin the boosting effect of high-meat). Just a wild guess, but perhaps the fact that the meats has been frozen before means, of course, that the cell-walls of the meats are geneerally burst from the ice-crystals forming inside them, so that that somehow affects the way those prefrozen raw meats age.  Of course, I may have personally stored the prefrozen high-meats in a wrong way or something(I did it outside the fridge).
