Law on jerky UK, shelf life
« on: May 12, 2010, 05:30:42 pm »
Hi. Has anyone got a link to the legislation on selling jerky in the UK or the name of the law? I believe it was said on here that the meat has to be cooked or cured, but would like to check out the situation.

Also, how long does jerky made just by dehydration last out of the fridge before starting to taste 'high' or 'strange'...I don't know cause I've always eaten it!

If you dry it thoroughly and keep it in an airtight container it easily lasts for months.
