condiments, how bad?

How bad for you do you guys think commercial condiments are? I'm talking about sauces made with cooked plant oils, some sugar, etc.

I think condiments are bad.  We need natural taste so we know if the food we are eating is good for us.

But my wife and kids eat cooked food so they have to use condiments.  Sigh.

There are plenty of raw condiments and even genuinely raw plant oils.As for the highly processed sauces, I don't think they are too bad as they form only a tiny part of the cooked meats etc. on the plate.
