nausea, variety & intuition? my current progress
« on: July 08, 2010, 09:34:47 am »
so lately i have not been able to eat raw red meat, ground, etc. i can swallow a few bites, and then my appetite (for it?) turns off like a switch. the texture, taste and temperature are all shunned by my body at this time. i can eat rare cooked red meat just fine (only maybe 6 oz. at a time), or aged, jerky-esque red meat - only issue is how to prepare that without smelling up the whole house!?

i can still eat raw egg yolks, but not the whites. however chicken, both raw and cooked gives me instant nausea.
lately i have been craving fish more - i can get quality sardines, salmon, mackerel, squid, octopus all very easily. what do others do with the whole fish like sardines/mackerel? i am thinking about making fish stock (even though it's non-raw.)

what i've learned is that the body is so complex, that following my intuition, rather than my analytical mind is a better strategy for wellbeing.

It will depend on the quality of your raw meat too.

Just like other foods, various raw meat sources taste different.

A cow from one variety or farmer is different from another.

What I did at the start was to buy from various sources and did taste tests and followed my taste buds.

Found that yellowish fat grass fed tastes great while the white fat grain feds taste bad / bland.

The first few months are hard because you are trying to establish supplies.

Exactly. If it's repulsed after a couple bites of red meat I'd give the red meat a rest for a bit. Eat some every couple of days to see if it tastes any better over time but give into your urges and eat a bunch of fish. Make sure you eat plenty of egg yolks though as a fat source.
If you do eat the fish see if you are able to eat some/most raw. Also try to eat all of the organs in the smaller fish if possible.

i am very curious as to how i'm gonna eat the organs of the sardines and mackerel!!!
