Lamb organs, tasty
« on: September 30, 2010, 09:30:35 am »
Last week I had this for dinner ...finally uploaded my pics...
Its the little heart and kidneys of a lamb (aaww), with a piece of marrow from its bone.
I ate the kidneys and heart together with the marrow and had no issues mixing those, do you guys eat 2 or more organs together ever?
I could not eat beef kidney before (the one I tried was nasty tasting), but these lamb kidneys actually tasted pretty good.
Definitely liver is my fave so far though!

They look exactly the same as those, which I eat. :)
Do you eat the whole kidneys? I don't eat this tough part that is inside (renal pelvis, renal pyramids, etc.)

Yes, definitely. Sometimes - 3 or 4.
Do you blame vultures for the carcass they eat?

nope I don't eat that part either, kidneys are already almost too strong a flavor for me, thats why I eat them together with the heart, it tones down the taste, I take a piece of kidney always with a piece of heart, because the heart is so bland, blandest of all the organs I think, but one of the best textures  :P

It's bland because it is fresh. I never eat it fresh because of its blandness.
After 4-5 days the taste becomes distinct. I love it.
The same is with a lamb tongue.
Never eat it fresh, never ever!  8)

I prefer fresh organ-meats. I'm not yet accustomed to older ones. :)
