It sounds that you can't digest the salmon properly.

This reminds me of some people who, when they eat garlic, they reek of it. I can eat garlic and not stink, well unless I pig out on it of course.

What is your diet like? Have you tried wild salmon and does it give the same effect?
Perhaps you are just slightly allergic to salmon...that sux, I have a friend who will literally choke to death if he eats salmon, but he can eat trout lol

do you eat previously frozen salmon?   What about the meat you eat, is it frozen too?

Eat lots of parsley and drink juice with parsley juice in it. PArsley neutralizes odors in the mouth and GI track...from your mouth down your throat to your stomach.

can't digest salmon properly? is this the natural conclusion of the fact i get bad breath from it? damn, this would suck indeed. i wonder if this is the case though. it doesn't disturb my stomach in any way, i enjoy eating it and feel good after, so my subconscious seems to think it's good for me. (also, could it be because i am eating "too much"? i sometimes eat a pound in one sitting.)

my diet? right now, raw salmon, boiled eggs, and a variety of fruits and veggies, and sometimes misc stuff but this is my staple. of that, most of the calories are from the fish and fruit. more calories from fruit than fish through.
not sure if this salmon i'm eating is wild or not.

i'm not sure what the deal is with this fish, but it's from a store which sells to sushi restaurants. it seems very fresh.
right now i'm not eating any meat besides fish. this is largely due to my unawareness of where i can get healthy meat (like grass-fed beef).

the parsley thing i will surely try. thanks for that suggestion, bharminder. BUT, before trying, i want to see if i can remove this problem without "covering up the symptoms" with parley, first.

Hmmm, try a different source of salmon to see if it changes anything, and try eating less.
Maybe try a different fish like trout or tuna and see if that causes the odor...
Even when I was on sad I'd pig out at all-you-can eat sushi and order huge platters of salmon, but it didn't give me bad breath or odour like some other foods did...I tried salmon many times on all raw and it was still good....I wonder what it is...perhaps its the fact that the ONLY source of animal flesh you have is salmon that causing it (eggs don't count to me), try eating other animals and then alternate with salmon that may help. If you don't have grass-fed beef try and find things like goat, deer and lamb, they are usually ok more-or-less.

Before I knew better, I ate farmed salmon raw. It made my breath stink and gave me a general stink when I would sweat. When I switched to wild caught, that problem stopped.

Me? No, I never noticed an odd smell on grain fed. The only thing I ever noticed was grain fed makes me a little lethargic. I don't know if it's psychological or actually physical, but I prefer grass fed. The odd smells are why I stopped eating onion, asparagus and garlic years ago.
