Hospital food
« on: December 11, 2010, 06:50:05 am »
My step-father is in the hospital for some care and testing at the moment, and I noticed he doesn't seem to have much choice as to what he is being fed.
Anyone have experience being in the hospital and bringing their own food or whatever alternative?

Btw,my step-father is not complaining. It's just that I wonder what I would do if I was "stuck" in that kind of situation.

I remember someone on the forum said if someone in his fam get to the hospital he would blend raw organs with raw milk and bring it to the fam. you can do the same for him if he is into raw or just bring him raw milk its awesome  ;)

Perhaps you could bring him some raw beef jerky?

Hospitals are screwed up. They feed you unhealthy food. They don't let you go outside. And there is no place to exercise and most of the time they probably tell you to rest in your bed. It's like they are secretely trying to destroy your immune system. And you pay them to do it. LOL

I recommend sneaking in food, and not telling the nurses/doctors about it.

I wonder if they could get you 'sectioned' for refusing to eat their food. Saying you're a danger to your own health, and since you're under their care..

You guys have way too many fears of hospitals force-feeding you. My father just spent two separate 1 week+ visits at the hospital. Both visits my mother made him food that was not full of his allergens and he ate these meals. They kept them in the fridge at the patient pantry and everything. It might be harder to pull off raw meat but one could eat everything else we eat here without problem and even the raw meat could probably be pulled off.
If you don't want the food tell them you aren't going to eat it. If they still bring it you leave it untouched and they'll take it away a half hour later without issue.

It isn't really too hard. All you have to do is say you are allergic to something in that particular food and that your family will bring you food. The last thing they want to happen is to get sued.

Unless you are there for being anorexic, they don't care.  Just push their food to the side, and they will collect it after mealtime, and they will pretend you ate it, so they get paid.

I agree with you.  Your best bet on getting to eat the food is sneaking it in and not letting them know.

Exactly, all pasterized food, except maybe an apple or a chunk of ice berg.  No open windows.  You may get to walk to the bathroom or down the corridor, if they're not testing your bg.  They don't want you moving otherwise.  You pay them a lot of money.  It's an S&M racket; they are your Doms, you are the subs.

Faith heals anyway.  If you believe, you will be alright (maybe).  If you don't believe, you will be punished (I can almost guarantee that).
