Do bones contain lead

I've read up on bone meal as I was interested in consuming some, but what worried me was that people stopped using bone meal cause of the lead content. Does that mean that if I were to chew on or grind up bones from my grass fed meat or eat raw fish bones i'd risk consuming lead?

Interested in the same, if anyone knows? I don't think there would be too much because you anyway wouldn't eat more than 1-2 grams of bone?

Furthermore, I'm thinking to grind the bone with a file tool, would this would work/can be absorbed by the body? Or how else do you grind the bones?

Leaded gasoline hasn't been widely used in the USA since the late 1970s.  Here's a quote from wikipedia:

" For the entire U.S. population...the mean blood lead level dropped from 16 ?g/dL in 1976 to only 3 ?g/dL in 1991."

I would assume that the lead in animal bodies followed a similar trend.

Because Americans largely stopped using bone meal as a calcium supplement in the early 80s due to high amounts of lead in the bone.  My assumption is that, since human blood levels of lead have decreased greatly, that means that cattle lead levels have decreased too.

Oh no i'm not going to touch that bone meal bs, I plan on taking the demarroed bones I have and grind em up myself.

What's the difference between taking Terramin or Pascalite clays, and taking bone meal?  It's all inorganic minerals.  I don't see why the bone meal is so verboten just because those minerals were steamed. It's not like eating cooked meat/fruit.  Minerals are heated to very high temperatures within the Earth naturally.

I'm not talking about the heating of bone meals though that i'm wary of too. I'm talking about the fear of lead in bone meals.

Bones that are made into bone meal are no more likely to have high levels of lead than the bones you buy and grind yourself. They're all from American-grown cattle.
