Lame.. Later on in that episode these grain farmers use explosives to blow up trees where 'locust birds' are nesting. With the number they are able to blow up I don't see any point in this other than satisfying a desire for revenge.. If they were sensible I don't see why they couldn't make use of the swarm some how like catch them in giant nets or steal them from their nests.
