How Do You Bear the Smell?
« on: March 12, 2011, 04:29:34 am »
    Short term strategies please?!

I've cheated on my diet, and now smells are bothering me again.  Some places it's chemicals, others it's benzene or gasoline.  Right now it's non-organically grown all kinds of food that's slightly off.

I'm almost wishing these smells would bother other people, so they wouldn't act so nonchalant about it. Of course best would be 100% paleo environment, or at least a little closer than my surroundings right now.

    Do these smells bother you?

I have this "fake leather" smell that bothers me from time to time. I can never tell where it's coming from though. It's very annoying.

Chemicals used to bother me a lot. I always quickly left an area whenever there was a chemical scent like acetylaldehyde. They would give me massive headaches. Your intolerance to chemicals might mean that your body's antioxidant systems are overloaded and can't stand any additional chemical input. So... I guess don't cheat? XD

Smells don't bother me much. I've been told that my sense of smell is much less than other peoples'. This is a problem for me, as SMD-eaters have noticed certain raw-meat-smells ages before I ever did - indeed, some seem to go berserk at the slightest whiff of even fresh, raw meats sometimes.

A lot of people on SAD smell bad to me. Surprisingly things like skunks and gasoline never bothered me much, I actually enjoy the smell of gasoline for some reason.

Interesting, as I have noted how little smell fresh, raw meat has.  Well, I have never smelled an animal that was just killed, but my meat is quite fresh from the butcher.  Cooked meat is much much smellier.  I isn't psychological either, I guess the word for smell intensity is pungency.  Cooked meat is much more pungent than fresh raw meat.

Just about any smells, particularly synthetic/toxic ones bother me. I quickly get head pain/pressure, stomach burning, dizziness, and burning eyes.

I enjoy the smell of gasoline and smoke too actually, even though I avoid it because it instantly effects me.

    Thank you all!!

I solved it.  Yesterday I ate some month long chicken high meat I'd been "brewing".  The nasty SAD smells and chemicals aren't bothering much at all now.

I feel so much better in other ways too from eating it.  It was a good portion., maybe 12oz+its liquids (lots).  :P
