Four dead from e coli on raw beef in japan.

Sorry if it's been posted already. Don't refrigerate your meat in plastic for long periods, please.

I have a feeling this meat would have killed a buzzard.

I'm always suspicious of these food-poisoning articles. There are always certain details left out, such as that  the people were already so ill that even a minor detox finished them, or that the meat was from sickly, intensively-farmed grainfed animals etc.

As for lacking details...I agree. But I was interested to see that they at least included the details of it's storage. I can't say for sure, but slicing meat and vacuum sealing it in refrigeration for long periods seems like a guaranteed illness. I just wish the story could focus on what actually went wrong instead of the raw aspect.

I read that they get almost half of their beef from the U.S. but that means nothing.

I'm not scared, even if it were a thousand people. I trust my sources and know how to store meat.

Would this meat still have made them sick, at the least, if it had been cooked?

I thought this thread had been deleted instead just moved here. Glad to see this forum isn't scared of "negative" news stories. Good show.

It sure is all in the details. Almost everyone who experiences food poisoning live through it. I would assume that the people who die have weak immune systems. Low vitamin D perhaps?

I've had food poisoning with freshly killed raw liver of a probably dirty chicken.  I puked it all out in 30 minutes.

Another food poisoning case was when I ate dirty oysters from dirty waters. I puked and pooped my guts out after 2 hours.

It pays to be prepared with food poisoning.

Always keep some ACTIVATED CHARCOAL at home.

Mix 1 tablespoon in 1 cup of water and drink.

This will adsorb stuff in your gut.

Then flush it all out with 60 to 90ml of castor oil.

This has happened to our maid with cooked sea food from a restaurant.  And to our 2nd son with too much coconut milk.

Probably a good idea though.

So a Brita water filter is what is called for?
Cheers
