Scientific data on why organic foods are best.
« on: June 05, 2011, 10:59:54 am »
Can you'all find some "good" scientific data/articles/research for me to forward to a "doubter" acquaintance who tried to convince me that it was all a hoax. (that organic food was best/better)

I know that in my "mind" it is superior, but I need written proof. The thicker it's piled, the better for this guy  ;)

I admit that I am a bit adrift when it comes to recognizing "good" "science"   ;D
Cheers
Al

it is hard for me to imagine someone who wouldn't understand that eating growth hormones, antibiotics, pesticides, medicine, vaccines is bad. I mean I can understand someone not getting the grassfed vs grainfed thing but the danger of those nasty chemicals should be self evident truth.

hard to find that research the funding is in the other corner and since science proves everething that's funds them.....

why do you think every scientific article ends with: more research is needed. they mean send us more money  -d

It depends.  Organic food will most likely always be more nutritious but not necessarily depending on farming methods and farm location, organic people can use pesticides as well so don't just assume because its organic its pesticide free(or that organic pesticides are better then conventional).

For animal foods organic is probably always the way to go because toxins are stored in the fat and we all know how toxic conventional husbandry methods are.  Plant foods don't matter too much imo because they probably don't store that many toxins and the ones they do store are water soluble(i.e. you just pee them out for the most part).
