I was in an oyster-eating contest today
« on: June 19, 2011, 10:45:57 am »
It was a last-minute thing, the entry fee was $5, and I got to eat 2 dozen excellent quality oysters.  I came close to winning, but only got second place.  I ate 2 dozen oysters in less than 1 minute.   :)  Are you guys impressed?  :D

$5 to eat as many oysters in 1 minute sounds like a great deal.

I want your picture with your medal / trophy / certificate!

I'm impressed.

How many oysters did the first placer eat?

And how big were the oysters?

I supposed they were pre-shucked.

They were definitely pre-shucked.

The first-place guy beat me by less than a second in the first round (it was a race to be the first to eat 2 dozen).  He went on to win the finals.  They had to eat 4 more dozen oysters in the finals.

The cool thing is, the oysters were from my favorite oyster restaurant in the world  They have the best oysters I've ever tasted.  I'm so doing this again next year.

WE should all be doing this.

Where are all the oyster eating contests scheduled at?
