hi,
i'm new and just getting started. questions first so that you don't have to read too far if you don't want.
1. anyone have experience healing a distended or enlarged colon on RPD? did you have to give up all fruits and vegetables for good?
2. any problems with potassium dumping while switching to RPD with zero or low carbs? right now, my only carbs really are coming from raw honey added to tea several times a day (ginger tea, sleepytime at night). i also add some juice from Bubbie's raw sauerkraut.
3. would it be helpful to make bone broth for the minerals after eating as much of the marrow fat out of the bone raw as possible? maybe cooking it with knuckle joints for the collagen and gelatin?
4. does anyone have experience with Hydro-C, sold by the Fiber Menace author, versus other types of vitamin C for constipation? he has a minimum order of $40 and i'm wondering if it's really worth ordering something else. any experience with his probiotics?
i'm just starting out RAF. i had been about 90% paleo, eating most of my veggies and fruits raw, with raw eggs and liver added to raw fruit smoothies. after adding dry skin brushing about a month ago, i had a bout of constipation that started a roller coaster, culminating in abdominal pain and an x-ray showing a distended colon. i have a history of diverticulitis and had about 10" of my sigmoid colon as well as my gallbladder removed in 2004 just before i turned 33. i had been eating about 30 mg of fiber a day at that time. i'm ready to let the fiber go if it will mean that my colon will heal, hopefully shrink, digestion will return to "normal" (feels slow recently and kind of bloating), and the abdominal discomfort will go away. i saw a gastroenterologist yesterday who wants to do a colonospopy to look for partial obstructions, polyps or damage due to scarring around the previous surgery site. i'm hoping to make a big impact before then (mid-october). i'm currently trying to use Calm with Calcium (mag/cal supplement) and sodium ascorbate (vit c) to help with bowel movements so that i don't have to strain.
thanks for any help or ideas! truly! i'm anxious to get as healthy as possible as quickly as possible.
