Grains/Beans Healthy?
« on: October 01, 2011, 03:14:08 am »
Hey guys,

I am new to all of this and my body is definitely leaning me towards more raw proteins/fats over cooked.  This diet world just seems so crazy with people everywhere having different opinions.  The biggest thing i can't seem to understand is that you have a ton of asian cultures that managed to live into their hundreds very healthfully off of grains.  They soak and prepare them properly of course.  Do you guys think that all people are genetically similar or do you believe there are differences that make some people better at eating meats and some better at eating more plant matter?  This is my biggest question when it comes to nutrition

East Asians have enlarged pancreas and salivary glands that have developed over their long grain-eating history.  The rest of us don't have those adaptations.

Controversial subjects should always be put in the hot topics forum, not in the general discussions forum. Moved there now.

Even East Asians will have some problems with grains/beans as the processes only some of them use will only reduce some levels of the antinutrients. Plus grains/need to be cooked, thus adding extra heat-created toxins. All this means that East Asians may have some limited resistance to grains/beans but still be unhealthy from eating the stuff.
