Joining the Paleo World
« on: November 22, 2011, 09:46:59 am »
Hello to all!

Im new to this forum and somewhat to Paleo (Been on it for about 4 months). I love the results I'm getting from this way of eating. Its amazing. I feel so much better, lots more energy and never get annoying hunger pangs. I haven't got sick either..no pesky migraines and colds/flu so far!! Plus the weight loss as an added bonus!!

I'm really enjoying this way of eating. I got sick and tired of low fat/low calorie starvation diets; Diabetes runs in the family; High carb diets make me crave more carbs=food binge; Primal foods taste great and satisfies me; I want to be healthy now and in old age; I don't want to feel tired all day long.

I'm a 5'6", 39 year old female. I weigh 173lbs. My main goal is to lose weight so I can go off my bp meds. I need to lose about 30lbs.

Anyways, I hope to learn lots on this forum and from its members.

Welcome!

You do know that this is a raw paleo forum right? Meaning we eat our meat raw as well.

You came to the right forum.
Raw Paleo Diet, properly executed will give you the best results.
For your high bp, it is a matter of kidney cleansing.
Kidneys need a rest from cooked protein and too much protein.
My suggestion is a high raw fat, low raw protein.
Also do kidney cleansing procedures.
Before doing that, do colon cleansing procedures.
Than your BP will normalize.
Stay away from coffee.
And plain water is hard on kidneys.  Squeeze  a lemon or an orange in a tall glass of water to make it more organic / absorbable.

What you read about higher fat (raw) is no joke. I lose weight steadily on incredibly high fat intake from egg yolk, beef fat, coconut cream, and avocados. I was brainwashed before about all the low-fat mumbo-jumbo. I got really out of whack and gained a lot of weight. It's coming off now with RPD and I'm feeling so much better, even without special cleansing. I tried several different combinations of protein vs. fat vs. carbohydrates and found what works best for me. Best means plenty of energy, no constipation, sleep well at night, alert during the day, etc.

Hope you have all success.

Sounds good GS, thank you.

Before my dad passed away he was on dialysis, he had both kidneys fail.
He died of a heart attack at age 64. I don't want to go down that same path.

Since I started paleo, cutting out all processed foods and eating high fat and protein, low carb. My bp has gone down from 148/86 to 122/90. The bottom number is still high. I'm on a bp med called accuretic which has a diuretic in it as well. I was given another medication which I don't want to take. I just want to be off the bp meds for good.

Anyways, thanks again for the advice. :)

Thank you Eveheart,

I love fats, avocados, coconut oil/cream, butter, eggs (yolks).
I'm still reading up on what everyone is eating and what's preferable choice for raw meats. I don't mind eating organ meats but I've always eaten them cooked. I will give it a shot. If it means being my healthiest with no more dependancies on bp meds, getting leaner and perserving muscle, loads of energy. I can and will do it. :)

A big loving welcome to you!

Raw palaeo diet is a real journey. It has taken me some time to get used to eating raw animal foods, but it feels like it is the right path for me and I am feeling much better on it.

Peace,
Isthmus

Thank you Isthmus for the kind welcome and for the support and encouragment. :) It's nice to read that others here are doing so well following RPD.
