Coconut fat and Alzheimer's disease
« on: November 23, 2011, 03:09:43 am »
An Alzheimer's patient and his wife talk about the effects of coconut fat:

Dr. Newport's effective work on memory loss and Alzheimer's with coconut oil- Part I
In my own experiments I noticed that fresh raw coconut milk is far better for my brain and mental well-being than any animal fat (except fish fat).

Can you elaborate on what your daily/weekly diet entails including staples?

At the moment my diet mainly consists of wild fish, wild seafood, wild boar, lots of raw fresh coconut milk and small amounts of fruits and salads.

Have I had that wrong all this time? I thought the fat was in the meat of the coconut and not the milk.

The liquid IN a coconut is called coconut water.

Coconut milk is made from the meat of mature coconuts. Coconut milk contains all the fat and much more, but no fiber.

The clear stuff is coco water.  The juice of just mature meat alone ran through a juice extractor is cream.  The fiber that comes out of the other side of the extractor is called pulp. The meat blended with the water and strained is milk. What is strained out is pulp or fiber too.  The immature meat is jelly. Then there is the coconut sprout, have you eaten that?

Do you make your own coconut milk?

Yes, always. I never eat canned coconut milk.

Unfortunately it's extremely difficult to get mature coconuts of acceptable quality here in Germany.

It's funny how words can be used so differently in the same language in different places. Thanks so much for giving me the established definitions.  ;)
