Had my first raw steak the other day. Sure was delicious.

I sat down at the dinner table at the fire station with the rest of my crew.  They all had nice looking BBQ'd Rib-eyes and New york cuts in front of them.  I plopped down with a 1lb raw Rib-eye.  They all stared at me like I was a freak.  Now I was committed and a little worried that it might not go down so easy, but there was no turning back now.  That first bite was like cotton candy, and I am never going back to cooked meat.  Great forum, lots of info.  Thank you.  I don't think it will be long until I am completely raw.  Oh, and the meat was from one of our crew members fathers farm, organic and pasture raised. I've bought a bunch from our local co-op, some frozen, some not.  Not too much difference in taste to me.  The frozen one just seems a little more gelatiny (if that's a word) to me.  Still goes down like candy though.

Awesome, welcome, have you already introduced yourself or would you like to tell us a little bit more about how you found raw paleo and why you took the plunge?

Cheers!

A little about myself:  I'm 40, married, she's a vegetarian, we have 4 sons.  I spent 4 years in the Marine Corps, and I've been a career firefighter for about 12 years and a volunteer FF for about 6 years.  We exercise regularly together as well as with our kids.  I was diagnosed with Celiac disease about 12 years ago and have been gluten free ever since.  I've pretty much eaten organic or grass fed meat for the last 10 years, as well as mostly organic veggies and fruit.  I started reading up on Weston A Price a few years ago which is probably the reason my diet has slowly evolved (or de-evolved) over the last few years to where I am now.  I started drinking raw milk, but have slowly taken it out of my diet.  I began eating about 6 or 7 raw eggs a day 6 months ago or so.  I guess going completely raw is just the natural progression of my journey.  There is definitely a certain primalness about it.  Which is a very freeing feeling.  I've  eaten a little over a pound of raw steak today and about a half dozen raw eggs from my friends home grown chickens.  I would say my biggest bane would have to be the 3-4 glasses of wine I drink at night.
