The shortcoming is that applying heat to any food creates toxins.

I tried cooked-palaeo  long before this diet. It was a disaster, as, at the time, I got very painful stomach-aches after eating any cooked animal foods.

As regards cooked-palaeo, the usual Cordain-type palaeodiet "only" involves harm via cooking, as that creates toxins. Some self-proclaimed "palaeos", though, eat lots of very unhealthy cooked, grainfed fats which is much worse.

Kiss omega 3 fat goodbye.
Harder to digest.
Need to eat more.
Won't cure incurables.

After 3 months of raw paleo, I tried cooked paleo homo optimus diet proportions. Cooked daily. After 30 days I could not take it anymore I was feeling sick.  I had to go back to raw paleo.

Cooked animal foods cause a lot of oxidative stress in our bodies.

For example, I get brown aging spots on my skin if I eat cooked meat and fat. And there are other "completely normal" symptoms like endless belching from cooked animal fats, slight sinus problems etc.
