Bad Digestion
« on: February 17, 2012, 08:21:56 am »
Hey guys,

Chronic health issues.  Possible lyme.  Weak adrenals.  Bad digestion.  Everything is getting better slowly.  I do eat paleo but not all raw.  Raw fats/oils.  Raw eggs.  Meat is a problem for me.  Every now and then i do a "raw liver" drink which is starting to taste and sit well but it is mixed/blended up.  I most likely have a "leaky gut" and have tried to eat raw/rare meat before.  If it is not really finely ground up it seems to sit in my stomach.  Is there any way to ease into this?

Thanks

Oh, also i have a hard time handling raw veggies unless juiced.  Fruit and raw nuts seem to be ok though as long as the fruit isn't straight out of the freezer.

ground meat was the first food i could digest well.  for a while it was the only food, and allowing it to age made digestion even better.  organ meats too, once i was brave enough to try, had such a positive effect on me.  i get them in a ground up mix for psychological reasons, but i think in the beginning that was probably better for my digestion too.

Everything is getting better slowly.

that's good, though! keep at it :)

You could try eating the meats lightly cooked, and then, every so often lowering the cooking-temperature until you can handle eating raw meat at room-temperature.

My regimen for healing leaky gut that I used on my 10 year old boy is:

- diluted orange juice fasting
- with raw duck eggs spread throughout the day.

Try this for 3 to 7 days.

- later on you can replenish your gut bacteria with the best probiotics such as OMX, high meat, etc.

1 part filtered orange juice to 5 to 4 parts of distilled / purified water.

Try 8 to 10 oranges a day depending on the size of the orange.

Sip throughout the day.

Make sure you poop daily.
You can take a gentle LBB capsule daily that actually rebuilds colon function, or do a warm water enema before going to bed.

You will need raw fats.  So take raw duck egg yolks for fat.  You can also take whole eggs with the white if you are hungry.

All this is gut healing.

I once did a 14 day orange juice fast and it just healed me and my liver and my gut splendidly and got rid of my rice cravings.

First timers should gun for 3 days initially.

2 days is okay.
You will understand the principles by then.
And then you will know how to work fasting into your work schedule.

I think the main issue is that my gut is inflamed and has bad bacteria/parasites, etc and has for a few years.  So i know this problem is not going to go away in a week.  Right now i am following basically the "GAPS diet."  I naturally feel like shifting over to raw fats/eggs is good for me.  When i do the raw protein (liver) in a shake it works because it is already blended up.  Vegetables just irritate my system/cause constipation unless cooked or juiced.  If i tried to eat a raw steak i feel like it would just sit in my stomach.  I use saurkraut and fermented foods and what not.  I feel like maybe sitting on what i am doing now on GAPS is going to heal up the system a lot.  But i definitely feel like my body will accept rare/lightly cooked, ground meats before it accepts raw meat.  Kind of a vicious cycle.

I do have a large supply of fresh atlantic salmon that has been sitting really good just lightly broiled so yea i will work on that.  I just had a mix of some beef "heart/liver/ground beef" very lightly cooked in some stock and it seemed to be alright.  I think it's just my system getting used to it that needs to happen.
