mako shark
« on: March 20, 2012, 08:10:26 am »
I just picked up some mako shark for 11 dollars a pound. Is this safe to eat raw? Im a bit skeptical because it was so cheap. Also know some sharks are poisonous to eat without fermenting.

I'd eat it! Wish I could experience some of that animal's power and speed!

Only extremely cold-water sharks are unsafe to eat without fermenting.  Mako is fine to eat raw and fresh.

I ate it, quite tasty. Similar to swordfish.
