Was very into raw meats and eggs. No wonder he was so skilled.

He did eat small amounts of raw animal foods (meat and eggs), but he also ate lots of rice and noodles; much of his diet consisted of typical asian cuisine based on the information I looked up.

He was highly skilled in the martial arts because he trained like hell, not necessarily because he ate raw eggs and occasionally raw meat in his protein shakes.

This is awesome, I'm fascinated by Bruce Lee.  I have DVDs showing archive foootage of him training and I'm also reading a book put together giving his Philosophy; its called Striking Thoughts.

I just assumed he ate typical Chinese diet, now I love him even more!

Thanks for posting this.

The culture and civilization of the White man are essentially material; his measure of success is, "How much property have I acquired for myself?" The culture of the Red man is fundamentally spiritual; his measure of success is, "How much service have I rendered to my people?"

he drank the meat shake at least a couple of times per week.  It consisted of raw meat, raw eggs, and peanut butter. This was his version of the protien shake, I wonder where he got the idea.

Eric's right. Bruce Lee is also known to have drunk protein powder shakes and other processed foods. Not an ideal rawpalaeodieter. Hmm, that just leaves us Mel Gibson and Uma Thurman, and Val Kilmer as genuine raw-meat-eaters - oh and Armand Tanny and similiar bodybuilders of that era.

I didn't know Kilmer joined the foray.. interesting.  As for Bruce, he certainly wouldn't fit the paleo eater. This might incite some flames, but I don't think he's the avatar of martial art kingdom that many seem to believe, and I was a huge Bruce Lee fan as a kid. The more I researched him the less impressed I became. I definitely respect the man's legacy and the amount of publicity he's brought to martial arts in general and in the film industry.

I'm a volunteer on allexperts.com and was told by a raw vegan chef that she had provided Val Kilmer with a Primal-Diet-type meal including raw meats during a filming session some years back. No other clues exist, and who knows if he's still on the diet. But it wouldn't surprise me if there are others.

Oh, and I forgot Carol Alt, the supermodel.

few people back in his day did things like go fully raw paleo. Bruce lee just recognized it as something that works and began doing it often, not basing his life around it. Just like all those bodybuilders in venice beach who ate raw ground beef after their workout but would eat regularly the rest of the time for the most part.
