These things are always a great idea till you're finished eating them Then the heartache of.... upset stomach sets in. Doesn't stop me from trying them occasionally though : )

It does relieve the boredom.
Cheers

I suppose it depends to some degree on how bad it was with SAD, as this varies with each person at different stages of life. The foods you mentioned - burritos, pizza, beer - NEVER! My rule is wheat: never! dairy: never! Other processed foods are okay once in a blue moon, but I always feel achy in the joints afterwards. I started out with raw paleo on the verge of being a wheelchair-bound invalid, so a little reminder is all I need to get back on track.

I've actually been eating a combination of SAD, like the worst version of SAD foods there are with raw paleo.

I'm doing OK. I plan to eventually fully SCD/Raw Paleo it, which I tried before but got horrible withdrawal. So this time I'm slowly working into it.

I'm going to answer my own question since people so far have failed.  I will eat SAD sporadically and each time results in runny nose, bloated stomach, and often delayed depression.  However, I think I do get some extra source of fuel to run off of, and when I do eat it, I devour it like it's something my bodies been craving for a while.

out of SAD food I eat pizza once in a blue moon.  i also eat butter-fried potatoes regularly and sometimes other cooked home foods.  i stay away from the sweets.  i do not notice any negative side effects.  i think potatoes help me with weight gain.  i'd like to gain 10 more pounds or more.

Fats and minerals are the way to control cravings.

Interesting, I actually experience the same thing.  Thanks

This is a bit ridiculous, but when I feel I haven't been doing what I should have been doing, I sometimes deliberately eat cooked foods so that I get a hangover-like effect the next day and feel awful. Sort of a punishment to get me back on the right track.

Potatoes (Some how I sleep better if I eat some potatoes every few days) and salty popcorn, once a month or so I eat really disgusting sad food because I feld like it (afterwords I'm sick but och I'm human :-) ).

I try mostly to stick with (raw) paleo foods, no wheats, no pufa's

I still miss chocolate and I eat an 8-ounce bag of chocolate once a few weeks. What nutrients am I missing?

Otherwise I have no problems just eating raw healthy foods.

Maybe not any specific nutrients, per se, but the effect that chocolate has on the brain? I can't recall which feel good chemical it mimics and am feeling too lazy to Google it at the moment, but there's something in the brain chemistry chocolate mimics that gives you elevated feelings of happiness and well being.

I used to go out of my way to eat a chocolate bar every 2 weeks.  This was before my raw paleo days.
When I did a vco detox to address my jock itch, the chocolate craving also went away.
Seems my candida was craving chocolates.

I noticed this with certain nutrients.  Things like iodine, and other nutrients are added in fortified cereals, milks, table salt, etc.  I always found i craved things like french fries/burgers back in the day.  I think it was the iodine.  Now i take kelp capsules for that.  Make sure your eating enough magnesium, iodine, etc.  I was also low on magnesium.

Lynnzard, Here is one article that addresses the chemicals in chocolate:
http://www.allchocolate.com/health/basics/brain.aspx

I doubt the good feelings are what I am after though. I am generally a happy person.  I miss chocolate often, not while I am in a bad mood.

Joe, are you saying chocolate contains much magnesium and iodine?

GS, what is vco detox?

VCO detox protocol - gets rid of candida by being on a 100% fat diet.

http://www.curemanual.com/detox-protocols-and-treatments/stomach-healing-intestinal-cleansing-yeast-elimination/virgin-coconut-oil-detox/

Not a tasty menu...I would rather do absolute fast...But the promised results of VOC detox are so good...

Questions:
(1) Can the 10-12 tablespoons of VCO be mixed with a little low-carb vegetables (such as Romaine lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli)?

(2) What is the rock salt for?

(3) What is the lemon juice for?

(4) Can I do an absolute fast (no water, no food) for 3 days instead? Will a 3-day absolute fast starve fungi / yeast / candida?  (I did 3 & 1/2 days of absolute fast a couple of months ago,  so I know I am able to do it without much difficulty.)

We are off topic.
No vegetables, that will feed the candida.
Rock salt will help kill the candida and give you minerals.
Lemon juice will help kill the candida and give you minerals.
Hard fast for 3 days does not have the candida killing action of VCO + salt + lemon.

Thank you, GS. One more question: Can the VCO be replaced by  raw coconut butter (Artisana brand)?

2 tablespoons of coconut butter contains 18g fat, 2g protein, 5g dietary fiber, and 1.9g sugar.

No it cannot.
The VCO detox principle is 100% you consume is anti-candida, anti-yeast.  You feed the human with fat and minerals.  And at the same time starve the candida and the yeast.  That itty bitty protein and carb will spoil the entire principle.

The vco detox is drastic.  But if you are not allergic to vco it can do wonders in a very very short amount of time.  Cured of candida in days instead of months.

Be aware that sometimes candida is useful as Aajonus says.  So use your judgement.

This is OT. But is it possible that the white stuff in the stools a lot of people experience when first starting Raw Paleo is candida?

I know when I first started raw paleo my tongue got really white, my stools started getting white stuff. Then later my tongue cleared up and so did my stools.

No it cannot.
