Digesting salmon skin/non ground meats?
« on: June 05, 2012, 01:43:48 am »
I don't know if i'm just not used to it yet or what but i don't even try to eat things like the raw skin off of salmon or try to chew down a raw steak.  I guess i just don't understand how these things digest easily in your system.

I think you asked about this on another post (forgive me if I'm confusing you with another poster), and you mentioned "large" amounts of raw meat giving you digestion problems. I wonder how much are we talking about? The reason I ask is that some people think that wolfing down two pounds of raw meat is what RPD is all about. How well can you digest a serving of four ounces of steak? When you do try, what happens in your digestion? Does high meat help? Do digestive enzymes help?

Eating RPD is not a "magic bullet" for all conditions, so if you had digestive issues before, they can take time to heal. I do know that, after a while, RPD does wonders. Just stick to your raw routine and make changes that make sense to you.

Oh, nope i haven't tried eating "large" amounts of raw meat.  I do best with high amounts of veggies and some fruit.  I will try the steak.

Most people actually digest raw meat easily.  At first you may want to dice it into small pieces, and eat it with some kind of sauce or dip.

Will give it a shot.  Avocado or cucumber seem to mix good or sashimi

the skin is really hard to break down, i usually chew it until all the fat is gone and then warm the little skin thats left, it takes the most minimal amount of heat to be able to chew it apart and its tasty
