How to eat liver?

How do you guys eat liver? I tried nibbling a bit this evening, straight up after letting it warm to near room temperature, and while the taste was ok, the texture was a little unnerving. I just couldn't bring myself to take a real bite. Do you guys put anything on it? Or cut it in to small chunks?

I just cut my raw livers in bite size chunks and eat it.
Maybe I'm lucky the goat and beef livers I get taste really good.

You could try Aajonus' liver pate recipe:

Dice a handful of liver and dice a small red onion bulb and blender them.
You can get cucumber sticks and eat it that way.

Makes you look sociable.  You can share it with friends and family.  Although the normal people will put salt and pepper in their pate.

Did I post this already? I used to hate cooked liver. Top honors in my most hated foods list! Until I ate it raw, where oddly enough, I liked it.

I cut it into bite size pieces, sprinkle some Soy Sauce and Italian seasoning on it. The Soy makes an almost blood-like gravy type sauce. Yum! That is if you allow SS that in your diet.

Cooked liver gave me the worst headaches.  Consuming cooked liver made me wish I never touched the stuff.  I too enjoy liver now, raw!

I usually eat it plain, anywhere I happen to be.  At first though, I cut it up with a knife on a plate, but not now. I eat it whether there's a knife involved or not.

Hi Glenn.  I was lucky enough to dine with Korean people recently.  These friends like raw beef liver.  They eat it with sesame oil for dipping, salt and pepper (black).  I ate it with sliced avocado instead.  I served it sliced a little less than half the size of sashimi bites along-side some fresh kim-chi.  Setting is important as well.  We ate it comfortably seated on the terrace of our timeshare, viewing the breathtakingly beautiful red rock mountains.   So, maybe make it into a special occasion, a pleasant memorable one. Perhaps you'll like it each time from then on, associating the memory with it.
