organic pesticides can be things like certain bacteria that kill insects(BT) which is also used in non organic application, i dont know why its allowed for organic...when it flows into water it effects the life there, i dont appreciate that. but a lot of organic crops dont actually have to use pesticides, mostly they focus on using high quality fertilizers(manures, composts, certain minerals) to insure that their crops are healthy and even some of the larger companies use proper crop rotations and cover crops. organics from mexico are still pretty iffy, also beware that many organic apples from new zealand, chile, washington state..etc..the big industrial organic apple areas are waxed to death, sometimes i think it might even be a soy based wax, but its pretty gross and those fruits have no flavor, are grown for ease of shipping, $$ etc..
.. i would focus on sourcing fruit from as near by as possible and as in season as possible... if you can take a weekend to visit an orchard while its in harvest you can stock up on a lot of fruits for a very reasonable price, and see where you fruit is coming from. or see if you can get a hold of some from a farmers market.
i would never recommend purchasing conventional fruit, most from out of the country has been irradiated and was picked and shipped unripe. i have lived in regions with monocropped stone fruit orchards, some that were to be distributed to mcdonalds and seen the gallons of toxic chemicals they poison their crops and our environment with. orchardists drive sealed tractors in full suits to spray the fields with multiple types of pesticides, especially right before harvest because the birds and bugs prefer ripe sweet fruits...hazard signs are placed on fields. they arent supposed to spray when the wind is over 5 mph(which is pretty much never) and do anyway and you definitely feel the effects.
