The above example has nothing to do with eating meat.  Tapeworm eggs are usually found next to vegetation where pigs defecate.  She probably ate some salad.  Pigs meat contains cysts not eggs.  If she were to eat raw cyst she would have ended up with adult tapeworm.

Where it came from does not matter, the point is we should be vigilant about warding off worms.
Though if you are eating lots of crushed cloves, papaya seeds and pumpkin seeds, then you should be alright, all three of these things clear out worms and worm eggs from the body. If you haven't done a worm detox before, it is pretty simple to get yourself some cloves, papaya and pumpkins and simply eat small amounts of each once a day for a month.
Also if you eat lots of seafood, iodine kills worms, worms don't grow well in a high iodine environment in the human body.

Also this seems like a relevant post for this. My dogs got tapeworms a while back, several months ago. I've just been watching them to see how they react. So far, no symptoms that I can tell, they all have glossy coats, good energy, and bright eyes. Still, because they will be around people who wouldn't fancy being exposed to tapeworm proglottids/eggs  I'm going to worm them using HUMAWORM's recipe but I'm making it myself. Bought most of the ingredients in the bulk section of the co-op, except for what I have around here on the farm, like black walnut husks.  Anyway, seems like a fairly straight forward recipe, this one is for pets, but can't see why it wouldn't work for humans, not sure about human dose though, maybe follow website's dosage recommendos.

Mix together the following powdered herbs:
1 t. Black Walnut
1/4 t. Cloves
1/4 t. Wormwood
1 1/8 T. Ginger
1/4 t. Cayenne
1/4 t. Senna
1 t. Garlic

Grind them together. Dosing is 1 pinch for every 5 pounds of body weight 3 times per day for 5 days once per month. If you can't dose it 3 times per day then measure out a full day's dose and give half in the morning and half at night. Sprinkle on food. Store in an airtight container away from light and heat.

This is safe for very young animals too.

humanworm also says that most wormwood that is offered by health food is not the actual medicinal wormwood that is in most herbal text books, kind of like the difference between sage(which is actual sage) and culinary sage, which is a mint.....

also they say something about black walnut hull i believe, all the info is on the website, it talks about how they grow and source everything themselves, and gives specifics.  i took humaworm right before i got here, did not notice anything in my poop, although i wasnt looking very hard, but i didnt have any ill effects either.....

That's a really good point J.  Thanks for mentioning it, hadn't thought of it on this occasion.

I'm counting on the combo to do the trick, so even if one isn't exactly the right one, most of them are pretty straight forward. The wormwood I have is something I ordered a while back for making absinthe (I think, it was a while ago so not sure), so I'm guessing it is Artemisia absinthum if I got what I paid for. Anyhoo, I'm also probably going to give him GFSE just because that may have worked for me on occasion and it's easy to add to his food.

These techniques are only applicable to adult worms.  They are totally useless against eggs which develop into cysts.  Cysts always stay dormant and wait to be consumed by proper hosts.  If not consumed cysts die which is what happened to that woman.  Surgical removal is the only solution.

To minimize exposure to worm eggs wash all produce well if you don't know where it came from.

I thought cloves were ONLY good against eggs, and not against adult worms?

I used a herbal dewormer to get rid of my tapeworms.  I gained 10 pounds immediately after the 30 day deworming period.
