« on: October 28, 2012, 05:01:49 pm »
Here is another interview with fertility specialist Dr Michael D. Fox from Jacksonville:

How to Eat to Get Pregnant
He recommends zero carb diets to his patients, "zero carb is the purest metabolic state".

The Chinese say that Jing, (which can be translated as "semen", or "reproductive essence"), can be increased by good-quality animal products, especially fatty organ meats, etc..  I'd say it's possible that carbs do deplete the body's reserves of vital nutrients to a certain degree, leaving less nutrition available to nourish and build the reproductive capacity.

look at the hormonal chaos that occurs with each insulin spike.  Then repeat this many times...  All the glands, and thus hormones are inner connected.

Good point.  Also, carbs tend to deplete the body of trace minerals, and some of those are very important for healthy reproduction.

Yes, especially fruits.

Long-term starch eaters seem to do better than long-term high fruit eaters.

Most of the traditional tribes that Dr. Price studied prized specific animal foods for reproductive health, like organ meats, fish eggs, spring dairy, and specific seafoods.

None of them prized any plant foods for that, so far as I know.  Some plant foods are aphrodisiacs, but that's not the same thing as supplying the body with the essential nutrients to support the reproductive function.
