Haai - Journal
« on: January 22, 2013, 11:28:49 pm »
Got some blood test results from blood taken beginning of January this year (2013):

Ferritin: 332 ug/l

Thyroid secreting hormone: 1.00 mU/l

Serum Vit B12: 1560 ng/l

Haemoglobin: 14.2 g/dl

HbA1c: 40 mmol/mol
Fasting glucose: 4.9 mmol/l

Red blood cell count: 4.98 x 10*12/l
Red blood cell distribution width: 13.9%
Mean corpuscular volume: 85.5 fl
Platelets: 239 x 10*9/l

White blood cell total count: 6.4 x 10*9/l
Neutrophils: 2.1 x 10*9/l
Lymphocytes: 1.8 x 10*9/l
Monocytes: 0.57 x 10*9/l
Eosinophils: 1.7 x 10*9/l
Basophils: 0.0

Cholesterol: 4.3 mmol/l
HDL: 1.7 mmol/l
LDL: 2.0 mmol/l
Triglycerides: 1.4 mmol/l
Total cholesterol HDL ratio: 2.5

I have been on a raw paleo diet for 33 months.

I'm not an expert on blood analyses, but with a few quick google searches it seems that my ferritin and vit b12 levels are very high. Not sure if this is causing or could cause any health problems.

My HbA1c level is slightly higher than I would like, but I think this is due to a binge on honey that lasted a few days prior to having the blood taken. My fasting blood glucose seemed fine at 4.9 mmol/l.

My eosinophil count seems way higher than normal. Apparently this could indicate the presence of parasites in the body. Alternatively it could be due to allergies. Most of my allergy symptoms have gone since starting RPD, however I was staying at my parents place, which is full of allergens, for almost 2 weeks prior to having my blood taken.

During the period 28th May to 17th June I have had all of my 7 amalgam fillings removed and replaced with composite fillings.

I've had to get a medical exam (16th Aug 2017) in order to extend my visa for New Zealand. I thought I'd post the results here for anybody who is interested in blood work etc.
I've now been following a RPD for nearly 7.5 years. The last few years have been VLC with protein counting for about 35-40% calories, and the last 11 weeks I've been pretty much zero carb and in nutritional ketosis with fat making up 85-95% of calories. I was fasted at time of examination.

Creatinine: 77 umol/L
eGFR: >90 mL/min/1.73m2

Haemoglobin: 139 g/L
Haematocrit: 0.43 Ratio
MCV: 83 fL
MCH: 27 pg
Platelets: 252 x 10e9/L
WBC: 6.5 x 10e9/L
Neutrophils: 3.5 x 10e9/L
Lymphocytes: 1.6 x 10e9/L
Monocytes: 0.8 x 10e9/L
Eosinophils: 0.5 x 10e9/L
Basophils: 0.1 x 10e9/L

HbA1c: 35 mmol/mol

Chest x-ray: heart size and contour are normal. Lungs are clear.

Urine analysis: no blood, sugar, or proteins detected.
