I was fascinated by the survival story of these people in the wilds of Siberia.

Especially this: "Dmitry built up astonishing endurance, and could hunt barefoot in winter, sometimes returning to the hut after several days, having slept in the open in 40 degrees of frost, a young elk across his shoulders."

Imagine what is possible on a raw diet.

There is an aspect of compromise (regarding diet as well), but I'll let you read about it.

That's crazy but awesome. Surprised they didn't automatically turn to hunting, instead waiting until the son was old enough.
