Quality of Raw Meats
« on: February 17, 2013, 03:01:33 pm »
Since I live in Japan, buying food on bases has been a huge financial relief since buying meats outside the base is incredibly expensive comparatively.

This means that I am pretty much restricted to the base commissary (supermarket), and while i would love to shop for home grown stock out in the farms of Japan, it would for sure be way to expensive.  Japanese meats are really expensive.  I can get raw fish pretty easily im sure, but as far as steaks or chicken (<<<healthy raw??) its gonna be a no go.

My questions is how much will I be losing out on by buying meats on base?

I don't know what quality meat you have on base. But most meat is feed lot raised, and given antibiotics and hormones. So it's not very high quality.

Check out Food Inc. to see what I mean. Of course the meat might be decent, but you won't know unless you ask around.
Disclaimer: I was told I was misdiagnosed over 10 years ago, and I haven't taken any medication in over a decade.

Why not just eat wild-caught fish?
