Meat and/or fat
« on: August 03, 2013, 02:22:31 am »
Im still trying to make the raw meat thing work.
So Im trying out different things and hope that you guys with your experience can help me out.
Im thinking out of the box so my questions might be a little stupid for some of you.

I was wondering if the nutrients of the meat were mostly in the fat and not so much in the dry matter (flesh). If so.. wouldnt it be possible to just live off the meat fat?

Also Inuits seem to prefer the seal fat the most out of all animal food. So hence my question :).

I don't see it as an either or thing (in reference to muscle meat or fat). Both are needed. I personally eat 2.5 oz beef fat w/ each 6 oz serving of meat. Muscle meat is to lean to just eat that.
Disclaimer: I was told I was misdiagnosed over 10 years ago, and I haven't taken any medication in over a decade.

most of my calories come from fat instead of carbs. I get just a little bit more protein than necessary (I assume for my size i need about 70g and I eat about 100g) to promote muscle growth and size as I workout. I dunno if it works that way but I know I wont get bigger by eating the same so... I eat more. If eggs are your main protein/fat source, I would suggest trying beef back fat. The soft/moist kind, not the dry suet kind of fat. I find its very easy to consume a lot and is very satisfying. However the more fat you add the fewer carbs you should consume, otherwise the whole insulin/triglycerides issue will come up.

I know AV promotes butter a lot and I've never had raw butter but most people here seem to be mostly against dairy.

I know we're in the ZC section so plant fats should be out, they don't do well anyways. Within two weeks they made me ill and I simply couldn't get them down without gagging.

Beef fat is my largest food intake source and the only time I've had issues with digestion is when I simply eat too much and it makes my stool soft and oily with undigested pieces. I find chewing more can help that however.

Try seafood too, I find raw salmon/oysters/etc. to digest extremely well and are loaded with beneficial nutrients. It'll knock the fruit out your butt!

Thanks for your responses :).

I just notice that eating meat only doesnt work and as u both suggest its fat that helps you. Maybe your right and I need both, I will try fat only and will add meat with later on.. just to test it out.

I tried butter, but its not for me. I dont like the taste and can even fatten me up.. what I do not want.

I want to thank you both for your replys.. I have ordered raw lard and see how that works out. Maybe finally I get the result I want :).

it took me 3 yrs to like raw meat and 2 yrs to like raw fats. But at the very beginning, I could not digest any fats, but now no issue of digestion. Also without trying anything, I just get rid of all addictions, including cooked food

No. Not on only fruits, but cooked meat and other things, like sugar and salt. Now everything is gone. If I eat cooked food now, cause I m dying to eat that, but that is not true. I only eat cause to see the salt of mom's cooked food. She is fasting and for other stupid reasons I eat cooked food, but not for addiction

I have some lamb fat right now. Ofcourse it is still cold.
It feels kinda hard though. Is this normal?
And how long should I keep it on room temperature?
Cant wait to eat it and notice results.

I just ate some raw fat.. it doesnt have much of a taste. Sort of bubble gum texture.
It makes raw red meat taste sooo good somehow.
I will give an update soon if I notice any results.
I hope to get smooth digestion. :)

I will give an update soon if I notice any results.

Why do you expect to notice results? What kind of results do you  expect? And what would you infer of "results" in the short term?
Cause and effect are distant in time and space in complex systems, while at the same time there’s a tendency to look for causes near the events sought to be explained. Time delays in feedback in systems result in the condition where the long-run response of a system to an action is often different from its short-run response. — Ronald J. Ziegler

In the past I havent been able to digest raw meat that good.
So I hope to get the result that digestion of raw meat will go easier now with the lamb fat.
If there are other results (dont know what kind) I will just update it just to tell what the difference of the lamb fat was.

As for now I will stay away from raw meat.
Im not saying I will never eat it again, but its not for me right now.
Maybe in the future I will need it, but despite many periods of trying it just doesnt feel right.

However Im still raw paleo.. raw egg yolk and vegetables with tomatoes/cucumbers and raw coconut fat.

Curious as to the type of lamb fat you were using. During the times I was ZC raw I tried back fat, suet and marrow. My favorite was marrow. I could not get enough of it.
I also find butter puts fat on me. That is what I have at the moment. I'd like to have another go at ZC raw, but need to wait for a shipment.
