Raw dreams
« on: August 21, 2013, 06:39:58 pm »
Hi guys,
last night I dreamt I was swimming in a river and catched a healthy  big salmon  plus, walking on the shore a little later, I found a big squid.  :o
I was with an imaginary friend and he speared its brain out.
We sat and ate the squid first but not the head..

 ???

any imaginary friend of worth would have suggested eating the salmon first, not the squid.

Personally I would've searched for eggs and organs on the salmon first.

Still, must've been a great dream. This very morning I had a dream my best friend's three daughters were the only ones that need to either kill me or die themselves to stop the end of the world. The weird thing is I lived the end twice, EXTREMELY VIVIDLY, first time I died, second time I knew what they were going to do and I "won". Terrible dream because I love those kids and him.

Very profound archetypal pattern.

I'm not sure I understand. Care to elaborate? Dream knowledge has always evaded me.

To elaborate on the dream: The sky was practically exploding and on fire. There were people running everywhere but I was calm a so were the girls. My best friend was there shortly but I don't think any events happened that were memorable. Just present shortly. Maybe enough for me to know they were his girls in the dream?

Well, the "martyrdom" pattern in western civilization tales it is quiet popular.
The most widespread tale is the one of Jesus Christ. It permeates all our culture.

More,  you lived twice the scene prior to the killing but this time - being conscious- you overcame "death".
Just like when Jesus resurrected.

On a psychological level, seems  you are battling with multiple aspects of yourself.
The imminent Apocalipse is about to strike your (own) world and in order to save it, you must sacrifice a part of you.

Needless to say, you are both "You" and the "daughters".

From the dream as you wrote, I am not able to say what the girls represent.

No raw dream, but I had a sort of apocalipse dream too. I was walking in a big city I know very well (however, in real life I don't live in it any longer). I then remembered a dream I had the night before (within the dream) and took it as a forewarning. I told a friend who was walking with me along the riverside about the forewarning and told him to run, i. e. to flee. So we ran away from the city while the city behind us began to explode. I saw the giant wheel near the river explode, but also the buildings in the distance. Debris was flying around, although we were already far away from the city. Then I waked up.

Dreams sometimes gives me answers on things that have been bugging me for a while.
Different from your dreams it is not surreal, but just straight to the point.
Aura, do you know alot about dreams?

Dreams are messages from the unconscious mind.
It is You talking to yourself honestly.

You must be a kind of practical person, hence the "straight to the point" language.

Everyday I learn more and more.. l)

I have a recurrent nightmare since 3 years.
Finding myself seated on a plane flying back to Europe.
I am at my parent s house.
Once there, I look up and the sky is grey and there is no Sun.
I ask myself:  I do not want to be here!  why am I here? Why the hell I went back for?
I really cannot find an answer.
Then I start to feel anxious and look for flights, hoping to find one within a few days..

Finally, I wake up and try to look around in my dark room and when  I recognize "my" place, I feel so relieved I am back to this present state of consciousness.  ;D

It is clear that a part of me (the emotional one) is looking still for a physical connection with my parents over there, so the nostalgia is the engine that powers that plane really..
The other part, instead, let s call it the "rational"one, makes no sense of that decision because it is very clear from its point of view that Europe it is not an option anymore.

Emotions took over "me" ; that is why I "find" myself seated in there and the rational me has no "consciousness" about it.

When I land, it is when I  get down to earth (literally, hehe) and realize I acted irrationally (the rational mind takes over the emotions).

The Sun is the wake up call.

Yeah, I feel like I got no time to talk around things in my awake state, guess my subconscious feels the same way :).
So, do you think the subconscious somehow sees things more clearly and can connect things with eachother?
Because, alot of things I cant figure out during the day.. I figure out during my sleep and write them down in the morning.

I also feel that the subconscious sometimes shows me what I want most at that moment in time and it shows it to me in my dreams.

Seems like you got some unsolved business in Europe that you do not want to face just yet?

My parents are there and do not want to retire oversea..
I m waiting for the day they would come and see me.
They are also very city dwelling and it could be a bit uneasy for them to stay on a farm in a rural area..

"You" are your subconscious, too.
It is just that for some reason (or circumstances) while on your waked state,  the rational "you" takes over  a more wholistic comprehension, that is why you cannot "see" during the day..

Western society tends to do so.

It is remarkable though that you manage to stay connected with "the other side of you" and get clear directions from it.
Good job!

You could definitively bring more and more of this "sleepy awareness" into your waked life by allowing it some space during your day, by Being in Nature, practicing meditation, relaxation, reading ancient myths and fairy tales..

Nourish the Divine in you, Kaizen  ;)

Thanks for the advice :).
I definetly think that stress of the western society and the polluted environment doesnt exactly help the awareness in my waked life. Ive been thinking that its the way we breathe during sleep that makes us calm/relaxed and in connection with our subconscious. We tend to breathe VERY different. Hence why meditation focusses on breathing alot. This is just an assumption of mine through reading alot.

U come across as very spiritual Aura. By your name Id think you might be able to see aura's perhaps?
Are there any other "spiritual skills" that you have?

I am very interested in dreams though and Im wondering if you can refer me to a site with some more information that you perceive as a good source of information. For the past year I have been drawn more and more to the concept of dreams so your post is a nice way to connect with someone who dreams so vividly and seems to have some understanding of them.

Thank you Aura :)

Cause and effect are distant in time and space in complex systems, while at the same time there’s a tendency to look for causes near the events sought to be explained. Time delays in feedback in systems result in the condition where the long-run response of a system to an action is often different from its short-run response. — Ronald J. Ziegler
